Is John Atanasoff more European than Andrew Quinn?
Hmmm... to tell the truth, I'm not sure. Normally I'd say "Yes" since I consider Atanasoff Bulgarian, but he probably didn't spend much time living here. I've seen some documentaries where he himself can't decide if he's American or Bulgarian. So there really isn't a way for me to tell. But on the other hand, Mr. Quinn's family also immigrated from Europe, just like John Atanasoff's father, Ivan. It all depends. I'd doubt that Mr Quinn thinks of himself that he's more European than American, although his family is jew.
But on the other side, if we don't mind the way they think of themselves, I wouldn't say one of them is more European than the other. Because as I said, part of both their families came from Europe.
Both sides of the question have to be given a good look at, and more research is needed, but for now, based on facts, not what I personally think, I'd say one is just as european as the other.

Why did Hitler want to kill everyone not Aryan?
Who knows? Maybe not even Hitler himself knew exactly? And even though most people (including me) consider him sick, crazy and everything else that comes to our minds and is close to phycho, he had his opinion. Everyone is free to choose his political and religious understandings, even though were not the same as somebody else's. What he did he thought was right. Maybe he considered everyone else danger to Aryans or "not worthy living" because of their understandings? Whatever his cause was, he was ready to die for it. And so he did, suiciding himself in 1945, when WWII ended.
What does it mean to be European?
What does it mean to be European? To live in Europe? No, atleast not to me. Although I was born here, I live here and my country is part of the EU, I don't feel European. I don't know about other people, but does Europe do anything to make us feel European? No, why should it. Does our government do anything to make us feel European? No! Atleast I didn't see it. So we're part of the EU, big deal! What are we getting from it? Better education? Better salaries? Better jobs? No! A big nothing (exept easier travelling between countries)! I don't see life in Bulgaria being like life in the UK, or somewhere else in Europe. Sure, there are countries that are worse than Bulgaria. But why does it happen so, that when we try to prosper, we go down?
I don't know what does it exactly mean to be European, but everybody has an oppinion. And mine's that you're European when you feel that way.
And I still don't and probably never will, until I see something coming out of it.

Blog Entry 2: What do I want to do with my life later on
Man, how can I answer that question with just one thing. Well, I'm really going to talk about jobs, that I'd like to do. But don't get me wrong - there's a lot of things a geek like me would like to work...But what the heck do I have to study for them? And how am I going to pay bills and so on...
Hmm...
One of the things I'd like to do is animation. Being a passion of mine it's just perfect for me! I guess I'll have to study art somewhere, but I'm not sure if there actually is a good art school. I've heard only of one that teaches animation and that's New Bulgarian University. But will I get good education and drawing abilities there? To tell the truth - I doubt it!
Another job I'd like to take is comic book drawing. The comic book market in Bulgaria is small. Recently there aren't many comic books by bulgarian artists and I hope that this will change. But if it doesn't my dream is to go and work in the USA for a while and work on my favourite comic book publishing house - DC Comics.
So, what else can I do? I've always thought that action figure designing is interesting. Last year I saw a documentary on a DVD. It was called "Building The Batman" and it was with various interviews with people working at Mattel on toys based on the cartoon show "The Batman". I just thought it was awsome! I guess my favourite part is designing the figures and playsets themselves. I've made various playsets for action figures at home and they turn out quite good and accurate. I guess I'll have to study sculpting...but whatever I study, I cannot realize this in job in Bulgaria. Atleast not these days.
Some people have told me that I'd make a good actor. And one of them is currently studying acting at a Plovdiv high school. I guess it isn't bad, but it isn't really a passion of mine. Sure I love quoting and copying my favourite movie characters, but...I don't know... something doesn't sound right about me being an actor. But if I decide I want to do that, I'll have to go to Sofia and study at Natfiz.
But whatever I study, I'll also have to make some money. Even if I keep studying in Plovdiv and I keep living with my family, I can't always rely on my parents for money.
I guess Fast Food is something I can handle. There're also a few big stores that sell toys, manifactured by major companies like Hasbro or Toy Biz and the store people always are amazed by how much I know about action figures. You know, articulation, accesories, manifacturer, line etc... They sometimes say that they'd offer me a job, if I wasn't under age.
That's cool!
I rememver that once I was looking at the Batman Begins toys and a young kid next to me was looking at the Transformers. And he didn't know most of the characters. So there I am, explaining to him who StarScream is and if he's an Autobot or a Decepticon. Then the kid told his mother that I knew everything. It really made me fell happy.
So I really don't know what the future has got in store for me, but let's hope it's something that I can handle.

Blog Entry №1: What event in your life has had an impact on whom you've become?
Hey,all!
First of all, let me say "Hi!", since this is the first entry in the blog. If you've read my profile then you'll know some about me, but...
My name's Zdravko Genov and I'm 14. I live with my parents, my gradmother, my brother and my sister. My sis is 18, and the bro's 21.
I guess that's the first thing that's had an impact on the person who I've become - having an older brother and a sister. Both of them were always an example to me - for both right and wrong. This goes especially for my brother - Nenko. But we're boys, so it's obvious that we'll be closer. What makes us even closer is that we have the same interests. It probably started just because I was copying him as a kid, but I couldn't help it. I don't know of a kid who has never copied anyone. But we still aren't the same. We argue, we fight, but we always make up!
So that's the first important thing that has had an impact on my personality. Both my brother and my sister are the best example for what's waiting for me and for what I'll be going through...maybe.
What next...hmmm...maybe that's TV. Sure was great to play Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers or Kung-Fu: The Legend Continues in Kinder Garden. Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman was another one of the kid favourites. And then came the Ninja Turtles, Flash Gordon, Voltron, Saber Rider and The Star Sheriffs and Spider-Man. I don't know why, but when a trend was set in the kinder garden I always caught on last, but in some time I was always the most aware of the new trend.
Two of these trends were action figures and video-games. If you had a G.I. Joe, a Power Ranger or a Voltron kids looked at you respectfully. And Biker Mice were the rarest of the rare toys back then. Only two kids had Biker Mice toys in the kinder garden, and yes, I was one of them. But I wasn't always the king. Back then I was ashamed to be the last boy in the group to get an NES. But in a few weeks, I was the best video-game player in the kinder-garden. I remember that I once fought with my best friend from the group over who should get the Power Rangers cartrige first from the store. Boy, were we dumb to fight over such things. But it was always like this with us boys - we fight over something and we make up in the next half-hour. And how cool I was when I said that my cousin had a SEGA.Those days were great! We didn't have a care in the world and the worst thing you could be sad about was that you didn't want to sleep in the afternoon and the teachers made you to.
Then came first grade and the first BIG shock in my life - one of my grandpa's passed away five days before my very first day of school. And how I dreamt of him driving me to school (which was right next to the kinder garden I was going to)... it never happaned. I didn't even know how to react...But life goes on, and I had to go through it. It's easier now, but it would have been a hell lot easier if it didn't happen.
School went on, and new friendships were made, but the old ones weren't forgoten.
Kids now had many new interests and comic books started poping up. Sure we had bulgarian ones then, the most popular of which was DUGA (means Rainbow). We also had Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. But whoever had heard of Batman or Spawn back then? Almost nobody. I started as a Batman fan ever since I was 2 years old and my brother got for his birthday "Batman: Mask of the Phantasm" on VHS. Sometime later my folks taped "Batman" and "Batman Returns" off TV for me and my brother and I watched them, like 3 times a week or something.
Comic books set a fire in every kid's heart. Even girls loved reading them. Imagine what happenes to a child's imagination when he grows up watching Superman and RoboCop and reading bulgarian Sci-Fi comic books. Well, it makes him want to live like that for the rest of his life. And since you couldn't do nothing more than grabing a toy blaster and pretending you were some character of the Cosmic Saga action figure series, you start making up stories like you see on TV or in the colourful pages of the magazines and start drawing. Oh, yeah. I remember my first major comic book. It was about Shredder kidnapping April O'Neil and the Turtles battling him, Krang, The Technodrome and Baxter the Fly. It took me 2 school years to complete it. But it turned out good.
But unfortunately we started growing up and we had to be prepared for bigger responsibilities than beating the last stage of Contra or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3: The Manhattan Project. Damn, why did it have to end so fast?
We went to 5th grade. Kids started to abandon their toys, trading them for crappy teenage magazines. But not me. Another event with an impact on my life - I didn't want to grow up so fast. Sure they made laughing stock out of me for collecting Action Man figures or watching cartoons on TV. But I didn't care, because I was happy with what I was doing.
Suddenly 7th grade came. Kids started getting boyfriends and girlfriends, listening to shitty music and treating everyone who was different like garbage. Ok, not like garbage, but you get the idea, right?
I still didn't want to change. But I didn't have a choice. The exams were at the end of the year and I had to leave the toys and the games to find time to practice and take tests. It sucked! I hated it! And I couldn't stop it. So, I passed the exams, said "Goodbye" to many friends and prepared for what was waiting for me. Well, not really. I tried to catch up with what I missed, studying all year. And boy, did I catch up! And it was a good thing I did it, cuz when I started in the new school I didn't have time for anything, exept watching Power Rangers Mystic Force on TV once a day and get a new Ninja Turtle DVD every week, to catch up with the story.
Bad days have come for my hobbies...I don't even remember some of the toys I have or where they are. There're boxes all aorund me and I can't open them and take the stuff out, because there's no time! My brother was right. Ever since I started school he tells me that I won't have time for almost anything and the years will go by really fast.
And unfortunately he was right. Sure, good thing still happen from time to time and I still try to do what I like.
Oh, my! Look at the lenght of that post!!! I should getup, cuz I still have some free time on my hands and I've got a comic book project with my own characters cooking!
